Facts for Education Advocates: Demographics and
the Racial Divide


The United States Census Bureau projects that by 2050 the black, Hispanic and Asian populations will represent about 50 percent of the general U.S. population. As the nation’s demographic changes, trends in the education of minority students and the characteristics of the schools they attend become increasingly important for today’s education advocates.
