“One of the greatest strengths and unique qualities of the AP Program is its community of faculty from colleges, universities and high schools who are involved in various aspects of the course and exam development and scoring process,” Landers said. “A premier example of this community takes place at the AP Readings, where college faculty and AP teachers read, discuss and evaluate student work. Many AP Readers say that it is one of the most valuable professional development opportunities they have ever experienced.” The AP Program is now accepting applications for educators to serve as AP Readers in June 2009. Readers are particularly needed for Chinese Language and Culture, Japanese Language and Culture, and World History, as well as Environmental Science, European History, Comparative Government and Politics, U.S. Government and Politics, Human Geography, Music Theory, Spanish and U.S. History.
