Recent surveys conducted by the College Board revealed two key findings: 1) Regional forums are a sought-after opportunity for education professionals interested in networking and exchanging ideas with their peers; 2) Budget cuts and time off from work prevent many who wish to attend from being able to travel to the conference. To address this, the College Board is exploring the possibility of making the regional forums available online. The result is more than 20 sessions covering topics ranging from “Rethinking Student Aid” to “AP in Rural America,” and encompassing more than 35 hours of video. Using proven technology and a flexible online format, users will be able to view sessions easily and conveniently from their computers.
“While the current economy has been challenging for everyone, it has hit our educational system particularly hard,” said Eric Cantor, senior vice president for Region and Account Services for the College Board. “By offering this service, the College Board can expand the number of those who benefit from and are able to implement the strategies shared at the regional forum to all members who purchase access to the online video library."
The user-friendly format offers the option of pinpointing sessions of specific interest or viewing
all relevant to a selected field. All sessions were recorded using broadcast-quality video and audio production techniques, and most are accompanied by speaker presentations and downloadable support materials.
Registered users who purchase online for a one-time fee of $99 will have
access to all available sessions, 24 hours, 7 days a week, from their release in early April
through
October 2009.
More information and instructions on accessing this library will be available later
this month.
