New SAT® Counselor Resource Center Provides
Back-to-School Relief

For high school counselors as well as students, the start of the school year brings a lot of familiar questions about the SAT®. What’s the best way to get ready? How does score reporting work? What role does the test play in college planning?

This year, counselors can find the answers to those questions and more at the SAT Counselor Resource Center (CRC). This comprehensive new site was developed to be a one-stop destination for busy counselors to find answers to common questions and become familiar with the SAT — from registration to score reporting. It provides, at their fingertips, all the tools and information counselors need to help students and parents understand and get ready
for the test.

The CRC is the result of extensive conversations with the counseling community about the best ways to meet its needs, as well as those of students and parents. The site’s materials are organized into three sections: SAT Tools for Counselors, SAT Tools for Students, and SAT and College Planning. The first two sections feature easy-to-use links, handouts and descriptions for counselors and students, respectively, while the third includes a college planning presentation package that was available on a previous version of the CRC. This package now includes Spanish versions of the presentation, the presenter’s guide and several of the companion handouts.

The SAT Counselor Resource Center will continue to evolve, informed by the needs of the counselors that use it. In addition to signing up for updates and sharing the site with colleagues, visiting counselors can voice their opinions through a survey available at the bottom of each page. As always, the College Board welcomes feedback on this major new resource and continues to work in support of counselors and their efforts to provide students with accurate information and sound advice about the SAT and college readiness.
