4-Year Institutions Sought for SAT® Validity Study

The College Board is recruiting four-year institutions to participate in the next National SAT® Validity Study, as the organization continues to examine the validity, fairness and effectiveness of the SAT across a national range of institutions and students. More than 140 four-year colleges and universities have already participated in this ongoing national effort to conduct test validity and college success research. Each participating institution receives a stipend for the work involved in assembling and submitting a data file with particular student information related to college performance. The data files are due by Oct. 31, 2009, but the deadline may be extended for new participants, if necessary.

Participating institutions have the opportunity to design and receive unique admission and placement studies and a comprehensive data file returned with supplementary student-level variables from a College Board database. They will also receive copies of the national SAT Validity Study and other related research studies that report data aggregated across institutions. For more detailed information on participating in this study, please click here to access the Fact Sheet.

Any four-year institution interested in participating that has at least 250 first-year students and more than 75 SAT takers should contact Emily Shaw at eshaw@collegeboard.org or 212-713-8172.
