New Free Online Tools for the SAT®

SAT® Skills Map and Online Score Report Enhancements

Students and educators asked for more resources to better understand SAT® scores and prepare for the test. The College Board listened to their needs and developed two new free online tools — My SAT Online Score Report and SAT Skills Map — which offer several distinctive features that no other college entrance exam offers.

Used together, these tools can help students get the most out of their scores and gain a better understanding of the academic skills they will need to do better in the classroom, on the test and in college. These new SAT resources also benefit educators and counselors by helping them assess students’ strengths and weaknesses so they can better prepare them for school, the SAT and college.

My SAT Online Score Report gives students who take the SAT the meaning behind their numbers via a detailed report that shows their performance by question type and difficulty. It also offers national, state and high school percentiles to give students a context for understanding their performance. Counselors can review the score reports with their students as part of the
college-planning process. A self-guided demo of the score
report is available on the College Board’s Web site.

SAT Skills Map is a free online tool that shows students, parents and educators the skills students know and those that they need to know better. The tool shows specific academic skills that are tested on the SAT and that are typical of students who score within a particular SAT score range. K-12 educators can use the SAT Skills Map to create lesson plans that best address those skills their students need most. SAT Skills Map will launch in late May.
