Increasing Success in Higher Education for Latino Students book cover

Increasing Success in Higher Education for
Latino Students

In February, the College Board published “Resources for Increasing Latino Participation and Success in Higher Education,”
a collection of best practices for preparing Latino students for success in higher education. (A PDF of the book is available online at no cost.)

The idea for this publication grew out of an invitational meeting entitled Educating Latinos for the Future of America, which the College Board convened in June 2006 in Washington, D.C. The researchers, professors, leaders of Latino organizations, policy experts and enrollment managers in attendance recommended that the College Board create working groups to provide information to help educators connect Latino students to college success and opportunity.

More than 50 programs at colleges and other educational institutions are profiled in the book, including outreach programs, retention efforts, recruitment strategies and professional development for administrators and faculty. The book is intended to provide examples of programs that other institutions can implement on their campuses and includes tip sheets and
strategic advice. Printed copies can be purchased from
the College Board store.
