AP® Practice Exams Launch Online
On March 12, a new resource for AP® teachers was made available at the AP Course Audit Web site.
Free, downloadable AP practice exams have been released to all AP Course Audit-authorized teachers. The College Board is now able to bring this instructional tool to AP classrooms across the country, because the AP Course Audit provides a secure route to deliver content directly to authorized AP teachers.
AP practice exams are available in all AP subjects except for studio art, where no written exam is given. (AP Chinese Language and Culture and AP Japanese Language and
Culture practice exams are still being developed.) These
downloadable practice exams have never been used in a live
AP administration. Individuals are not permitted to distribute
the AP practice exams in any Web or electronic form.
“We hope teachers will use the AP practice exams as an instructional resource to help students engage in the sort of rigor, depth and breadth required in college-level studies,”
said Trevor Packer, vice president for the Advanced
Placement Program®.
The College Board’s Web site offers a variety of other helpful aids for AP teachers, including electronic discussion groups, program updates, sample syllabi, example lesson plans and curriculum units, as well as past years’ free-response
AP Exam questions.
