LATEST NEWS
Gaston Caperton, College Board President
Welcome to the first edition of College Board Connection, the online news and information service for the members and friends of the College Board. Connection will be e-mailed to you monthly. I hope you'll find its content rich, robust and timely and its format easy to navigate. Our goal is to help keep you informed about news and information that affect you as educators and about the activities and services of the College Board.

Connection replaces our printed member newsletters and various online communications. We've moved to a completely online format for several reasons, including your request that we provide you with the most current information. An online format also gives us the opportunity to deliver the regional and interest-specific content in a format that's easy to access and search. And, of course, an online format is environmentally friendly.

In this first issue, I'd like to draw your attention to several important features. We hope the new advocacy section will help keep you up to date on the growing number of member-led advocacy efforts, such as the Low-Income Task Force's CollegeKeys Compact™. Our regional sections are aimed at connecting readers with activities in their regions and states, as well as with news from other regions, and our programs and services area will keep educators current on important College Board policy news, such as the completion of the AP Course Audit.

We're eager to hear your thoughts about Connection and have established a special e-mail address just for this purpose. I'll be reviewing all the e-mails about Connection, as will the team that creates all its content. Connection's content will become increasingly multifaceted, as we learn what interests and benefits you most.

In closing, I'd like to thank each of you for the important work that you do to educate all the young people of this country. Your dedication to your students and your daily efforts to ensure that all students have an opportunity to attend and succeed in college matters profoundly to the future of our country. Our goal is for Connection to become of greater interest and benefit to you, as we learn more about what you would like to read.
